They rest as it heals and do not think “I am a failed athelete” they think, “right now something isn’t working so i’ll take care of myself until it does.“
Just like a broken bone, depression can change the way your daily life plays out, and pushing yourself too hard and getting frustrated when you don’t feel better is just like trying to run on that broken ankle and getting frustrated when it doesn’t heal.

There’s a vocal contingent of fans of Steven Universe crying out for more representation. Why aren’t there MALE Crystal Gems, they bleat and moan, even though Gems are genderless and their physical bodies shape-shifted manifestations that almost but not quite approximate human bodies.
This complaint manages to miss one point entirely, that Steven’s world is almost completely devoid of moms. There’s one place where men are dominant and its in parenting roles.
Steven’s mom, Rose Quartz, is famously absent. Onion’s mom has (apparently) been seen in flash back but it’s his dad we’ve seen a few times day to day and who Sour Cream mentions as a parental figure. The Pizza family has a matriarch, but Jenny and Kiki’s mom isn’t there. The Fryman family is all male, a father and two sons. Buck Dewey’s dad is the mayor, his mom hasn’t been seen. The only moms we HAVE seen/heard about are Connie’s, and Sadie’s mom who still makes her lunches.
Men play a big role in Steven Universe. They are supportive and caring and they might not understand their weird kids they still love and protect them. They do the physical and emotional work that’s usually expected of women, and they do it whole-heartedly. They are kind and brave and selfless and strong.
It’s a portrait of masculinity that we rarely see, in a world where men are generally portrayed in shows, commercials, etc as bumbling fools who need to be parented by their wives. It’s beautiful.
I love how, because of that “Beautiful Cinnamon Roll Too Good For This World, Too Pure” Onion headline, “cinnamon roll” has become a commonly accepted phrase for “a character who is cute and kind and typically gets more pain in canon than they deserve”.
Like, we didn’t have a real phrase for that common phenomenon (wubbie maybe, but that has negative connotations ie “this character has been wubbiefied by the fandom”) and then someone used a screenshot of a headline from a satire news website to describe it, and then everyone else was like “yes good let’s use this”. You couldn’t make that shit up. I bet there are people who use that phrase now who didn’t even see that headline.
Language is evolving right before our eyes in a very weird and beautiful way and I am very very sorry for future linguist who have to puzzle this shit out.

Honestly, it’s not really my place to try and explain because I’m not Japanese- so if any of my followers are Japanese, I’d much rather you all give your input so I’m not talking over you.
However, it’s my understanding that most people who use Japanese names do so after getting into anime or some other form of media where they hear it- it’s basically just white people accessorizing the Japanese language instead of treating it like a legitimate language and culture. So if you’re not Japanese, just… don’t. Don’t do it. Again, I’m not Japanese so my explanation isn’t the say-all be-all, but this is what I’ve gathered from listening to the opinions of people who are Japanese.

Anyone who uses their “concern” that men will abuse trans-inclusive bathrooms to ban trans women from using the correct bathroom is a fear-monger. They are hiding their transphobia behind “concern” and use it troll off of people’s completely unfounded fears of trans women.
