PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL

what's the root of your strong opinions about weed?

Well, truth be told it’s because I’ve seen what it has done to my best friend’s family. I’ve never liked the idea of non-prescribed drugs to begin with– you should never take anything that alters your brain ((even if just temporarily)) without a doctor’s supervision, ESPECIALLY if you already take other medications because pot can actually mix bad with some pills.

Going back to my friend, she grew up in… not the best house. Among other things, her brother grows weed and she’s the only one in her house who doesn’t smoke it ((except I think her younger sister just quit?)). They smoke it in and around the house, and she already has really shitty allergies, which just get worse from the cigarette and pot smoke everywhere. So seeing as how she’s grown to detest it for good reasons, I’ve grown to do so as well, though I more or less did from the start.

In addition, I just can’t stress enough how much I can’t stand substances that mess with your mind that aren’t prescribed and monitored medications. Yeah, it feels good, but it’s risky to convince yourself it’s okay to self-medicate and self-sedate. For some, it’s a slippery slope that can get hella out of control. I’ve had a couple of friends who started smoking pot, and it’s glaringly obvious that they are not the same people they were before they started smoking. They may like to think otherwise, but people who do drugs change.

I’m pretty chill with prescribed marijuana because that’s overseen by a doctor and used only for medical conditions, but recreational use pisses me off to no end.
