I first bleached it, and since my hair is normally a medium brown, I let the bleach sit for about 45 minutes, since you can do it up to an hour in each sitting.

I personally used Splat, which has great color right away, but it isn’t the best dye, so be warned. XD Next time I’ll use a slightly better dye, but Splat is okay overall, imo.

Anywho, so I bleached it, then did a coat of color, and then the following day I did a second coat to really bring out the color more, and that helped a bunch!

Also, a side note, when you’re bleaching and dying your hair, you need to be extra careful to keep it healthy and soft since the chemicals can quickly make your hair brittle! When you rinse out the bleach/dye, condition your hair really well, and if you can, use a leave in conditioner and blow-dry afterwards just to take extra care. ^u^

Oh! And use a color-protecting shampoo and conditioner to keep the color vibrant for longer. I use Garnier Fructis’ color shampoo since it’s cheap and it work well enough, lol. It’s in red bottles and can be found at any drug store.

It’s been about 3 weeks and the color in my hair is gradually fading, which isn’t bad for Splat dye. I’ve probably got another week or so before I need to re-dye to whatever color I choose next. :3
