jinglegrump answered: I personally prefer the 3DS, but if you’re starting out a DS is fine! Animal Crossing Wild World was wonderful, though the DS Harvest Moon games I’m not super big on, the 3DS were better. :o plus you can play ds games on the 3DS.
I know there’s some stuff I wouldn’t be able to play but I’ve found a DS Lite for $60 whereas a 3DS would be about $100 more, so I guess the question is being able to play those games worth $100 I could save and put towards stuff like paying off student loans :/
Ohhh, I see! Well in that case, I think you’d be perfectly content with a DS Lite. :) I mean, whatever suits you financially, you know? And the DS has a fantastic library of games since it had such a long lifespan before the 3DS came out. c:
I recommend the Professor Layton Games, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Puyo Pop Fever! They’re all pretty casual and relaxing, imo. ^^ Plus the DS Lite can play GBA games, which gives you another library of games to pick from. :D
