First off, you can’t even say that only Black Lives matter when our society acts like their murder doesn’t even warrant a trial or that their killing was justified based upon the inherent danger posed by their Blackness. You can’t say only Black Lives matter when THE NEWS REPORTS RIGHT NOW ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY IGNORING THE FACT THAT HE KILLED HIS GIRLFRIEND TOO. The guy killed his girlfriend too. A Black woman. But so many people are 10000000% ignoring that. Because they’re too busy with this, “see I told you they were all thugs!!!! Their killings are justified!!! This is the danger they pose to cops!!!!” rhetoric to see that this guy was looking for reasons to kill people, basically.

Just because we’re not posting 24/7 about it doesn’t mean we don’t care about the loss of lives. But there is a *difference* here, a strong difference, and this is the fact that these murders, while tragic, are not *systemic*. We’re sitting here blogging about *systemic* issues, and the killing of cops by vigilantes is not systemic. I’m not going to blog about every tragic death in the world because that’s not what this blog is about.

So many people are screaming at protestors that you can’t judge all cops, and yet when this vigilante goes on a spree, kills his girlfriend, and then kills two cops, all everyone wants to talk about is “OH MY GOD SEE THEY JUST ALL HATE COPS WE CAN IGNORE THESE HATE MONGERING THUG SUPPORTERS NOW”.

So fuck off with this shit, fuck off with people who want to derail discussions of systemic oppression and violence with isolated incidences that they use to ignore the pain they were looking to ignore in the first place.
