Rambling About My Day
Had a great day with Fuzzy. :3 Decided to do nothing but treat ourselves, as we should.
I did makeup for both of us, which was cool since I got a new foundation for me I wanted to try and I learned some new tricks to doing Fuzzy’s eyeshadow since her eye shape is totally different from mine. Of course, we looked fabulous. I wore my new boots that I got yesterday, and I never wanted to take them off. Those boots, man. Treatin’ my self.
Anyways, we saw Annie, and it was even better than I expected! I expected to think it was really cute and enjoy it but not LOVE it, but I LOVED it. What really took the movie above and beyond was a mix of the catchy/well-composed musical numbers and the self-referential humor. At many points they nod to how the characters just burst into song at random points, choosing to acknowledge it and make it a big deal as they choose. I wasn’t expecting this blatant tongue-in-cheek commentary, and it made the film more endearing to me, and the cheesiness of the movie came off as part of that. So yeah, REALLY loved Annie! I originally only went to see it because Quvenzhané Wallis was starring, and ended up grinning ear-to-ear the entire film.
We also stopped by LUSH and got a couple more things, and then when we got home we went all-out with the spa stuff. ;u; Ambient music ((Port Blue)), apple cider rooibos tea, bath scrubs, shower jellies, shampoo bars…. sadly, since I’m still only a week and a half out of surgery, I can’t take baths again yet, but Fuzzy tried out the Phoenix Rising bath bomb and it was GORGEOUS. I didn’t want to drain the bathtub afterwards. >.>;;;
Of course, we went all out. We haven’t been able to see each other in person for like a month ((except at the family Christmas party and at work sometimes)) because we’re both so busy, so we wanted to make our days off together really count.
We tried two of the fresh face masks from LUSH, and they were surprisingly effective. I am just becoming addicted to everything LUSH makes, and am yet to be disappointed by any of their products. Fuzzy opted for an oatmeal and banana mask that smelled delicious, whereas I was a bit ballsy and went for a mask made of tea tree oil and garlic. Sooooo, we sat there, one of us smelling like cookie dough and one of us smelling like… garlic. Still, the odd smell and ingredient was worth it, since my skin is looking bright and ballin’. =u=
Finished off the bath bonanza with a toner tab, and then we were all bathed out.
Since we had already seen a movie today, we ended up watching a bunch of Cutthroat Kitchen while rubbing each others’ feet and backs. c: Fuzzy showed me Cutthroat Kitchen last night and now I’ve watched almost all of season one on Netflix. >////> Sadly, I have the track down the other seasons as they air since only the first one is on Netflix atm.
We both ended up falling asleep at like 8:00 p.m. because we were so relaxed and soothed, haha. I just woke up and figured I’d post all this just because I feel like sharing and also to explain why I disappeared off of the face of the earth for a little over a day.
I try not to go on tumblr when Fuzzy comes over, since we’re both so busy that we don’t get to hang out every weekend like we used to. Any time I get to just be alone and hang out with her is really special and important to me, so we both set aside cell phones and computers while we’re together. ^.^
Sadly, she’s already heading home tomorrow since she works and I have an appointment as well as a shift at PAWS ((which I’ll make a separate post about because I just started volunteering at PAWS!)), but we’ll hopefully see each other after the New Year, before I go back to school. :o
