Also, I’ve been doing a hell of a lot of shopping these past couple days. XD I saved up all my Christmas money and my last paycheck, and after putting a little in savings, I let myself really go on an “end of year, you go dude” shopping trip. =u= Got some stuff I’ve wanted for a long time but didn’t cave in and buy.
Anything I bought in stores I got a great deal on for the most part, which makes me happy since I cannot stand paying full price for things I know I could find on sale. ^^;;;
Some highlights of my last few days of shopping:
-Tan lace-up boots ((they go about halfway up my shin; I’ve been wanting lace-up boots for a LONG time and since the mall had some solid sales on boots, I got a reasonably priced pair and I can’t wait to wear them every day for the rest of forever XD))
-A whole lotta LUSH. With their online and in-store sales, I stocked up for at LEAST like 4-6 months. I got bath bombs, bubble bars, shower gels, soap bars, shower jellies, body scrubs, and even a shampoo bar! I’m still waiting on some stuff in the mail since I ordered a lot of their post-holiday BOGO online. c: I’ve only been using LUSH for a short while now, but it is an instant favorite, and I really suggest you check them out! ((They’re a hella cool company. Not only are their products unbelievably great, but they are VERY eco-conscious and put a heavy emphasis on fair trade and an overall corporate consciousness. I could make a whole long post about this alone and why it’s so great.))
-Tea! I’ve been wanting an actual tea set for over a year so I can make loose-leaf teas, and I finally got myself a small set with a black ceramic teapot and four matching ceramic teacups. It’s a sleek and minimalist set that looks awesome, and now I’m able to try all sorts of teas and whatnot from Teavana. Sadly, a lot of the flavors I instantly loved were seasonal ones that are going away soon! ;o;
-Makeup brushes and some makeup; last week I went through my entire makeup collection and ditched over half, since it was stuff I’d been amassing for years now, and I wanted to go down to stuff I actually liked and would use. I really love to wear makeup, but I’ve always avoided it because people seem to think that it automatically makes me a girl, which is really disheartening and worsens my depression tenfold. That aside, one of my new year’s goals is to wear more makeup, since it makes me happy and comfortable, even if people get the wrong idea from it. So I ditched my frayed and cheap ol’ brushes and got some ecotools sets to stock me up for the next long while. Didn’t buy much makeup at this time, except some lip stains, foundation, and blush. o3o I read a lot of phenomenal reviews for the Revlon colorstay foundation, with people saying it was a Godsend, or better than expensive foundation, so I gave it a go! Although the shade was a bit too light for me ((my mistake)), I was pleasantly surprised. This is officially the only foundation I’m ever using ever again. .-. Ehu.
-Professor Layton merch! Ordered a Prof. Layton plushie since he is the perfect creature, and a set of Layton mini-figures. :D As usual, Amazon is a miracle for finding things you normally just would never be able to find in a store. I also ordered some anime, manga, and whatnot, but the Layton stuff was really special since you cannot go to a store and get it, unlike most anime nowadays.
Anywho, my saving paid off, and I really went a little overboard in treating myself to some stuff I’ve been wanting, haha. Now I just need to start rebuilding my savings for the next big event I do.
