Exactly! Like atem has some good quips and Yugi’s growth is kinda cute, they kinda get overshadowed by joey and kaiba and half of the people yugi/atem duels and every villain.
It pisses me off that they gave Yugi no real personality. He is literally a cute shota blob to be the stark contrast to super cool Atem. That’s it. .-. He’s super complacent and even when he shows emotion it doesn’t really do much… Atem gets a good amount of development in the Millenium World arc, but that’s the after you’ve put up with the blandness for 200+ episodes so by that point you just don’t care. o3o; I just don’t understand why they left the main character(s) so underdeveloped??? It baffles and frustrates me. But Yu Gi Oh is still one of my favorite anime just because it’s so good and a part of my childhood and season 0 antics make my life smile.
