So How Does This Work? // What is This?

Well, for those of you never participated in TDT, TDC, TDVG, or the current TDCO, the Total Drama _____ series ((named simply Total Drama Tumblr or TDT)) is an RP group originally founded by a guy named Will, who wanted to bring a Total Drama universe into a roleplay setting for the those in the fandom. Although a lot has changed in the style, here’s how it works.

-Anywhere from 13-24 contestants are “competing” as if it were a season of Total Drama. For those who don’t watch TD, think something along the lines of Survivor, or even The Amazing Race. It’s like a reality show!

-Each “episode” ((written by an admin)) describes a challenge, and how the challenge plays out. With the help of muns giving information about their characters to the writers, we then portray the cast as accurately as possible. It’s like fanfiction, really. At the end of an episode, the team that loses the challenge has to eliminate someone on that team. Again, it’s like Survivor in that aspect. Each challenge is themed depending on the season: on the actual show, Total Drama Action had challenges based off of different movie genres.

-Between episodes, characters RP with one another. This is totally up to the participants, and this is what makes it special. You can form alliances, get in a relationship, fight with a rival… the sky’s the limit! This simultaneously helps the writers, since we get to know your character. 

-Many times, people draw fanart, write fanfics, and do all sorts of stuff to appreciate those involved in the game.

-At the end there is a winner, and then a new “season” begins, with a new theme, and a new set of characters! Muns typically stick around for many seasons, and submit a new character each time to play all over again. It’s great for fans of Total Drama, people wanting to practice their writing/character development, or people just wanting to have fun! Even if your character is eliminated, you can interact with other characters and still RP. It’s a community where there’s never a lack of things to do.

-Due to the cyclical nature, it’s perfect for new members to hop in at any start of a season and not have to worry on catching up, since each season can new characters despite if the muns are the same.

-There are often in character and out of character games and shenanigans going on! There is a chatbox for participants, fans, and everything in between.
