I think the point of this whole thing is more like: “It’s okay, you’re offended we get it, we don’t need a constant reminder.”
The whole point for me is:
“Don’t tell someone with a mental illness they’re overreacting or shouldn’t be upset because their serious condition is being used as a gag.”
If you don’t have a mental illness, it’s 100% not okay for you to determine what’s offensive for them and what’s not.
Seriously the last thing I need is people telling me it was “just a joke” that people are circulating stigmas and stereotypes about an illness I constantly worry about making me look like a freak.
