OMG yes. Growing up my life was alright ((can’t say as much for my adolescence, but my depression/anxiety started before shitty things happened)), and I still live in a decent home, but I just got stuck with depression and GAD. It actually runs in the family ((thanks dad)). My brother and I both had it pretty easy as kids, but we both got the botched mental health gene from my dad, so 12 years into my existence stress started triggering my mental illnesses.
Depression does not pick and choose who it afflicts.
