Because she’s doing a fashion trend not trying to BE Japanese (Katy), or exaggerate a part of Japanese culture that everyone know is Japanese and shows little interest in actual Japanese culture (Gaga)

I do think her fashion choices are cute af esp in these photos tho :3 that first one she’s fairy-kei, and it looks soooo good omg <3 

she’s not perf in not appropriating JP culture, but she doin’ a better job at understanding harajuku fashion without being problematic then most celebs these days (katy perry, gwen stefani…) she didn’t use Asian people as background props to her performances/videos, so that’s a plus. :3

but “better then most” is still problematic at the end of the day. I hope she continues to do cultural sharing like in these photos, rather then the cultural appropriation she started out with in ‘Your Love.’ ya dig?
