How do I deal with my best friend's crush being a bag of dicks? He doesn't "believe" in equal rights and is a transphobic ass who thought it was okay to call me a "thing" instead of using my pronouns. She even acknowledges he's an asshole, but she claims she already loves him, since she only found out two days ago that his idea equality is that "everyone should be equally hetersexual". I can't put up with this guy. He's literally everything my mental health does not want. What do I do?

Tell your friend you love her but for your mental health and emotional safety you can’t be around this dude. And hang out with your bff when he’s not around.

And if you don’t mind conflict, maybe tell her that you think dating someone who is so transphobic and homophobic is shitty and hurtful to the LGBT*Q folks in her life, including you, warning, telling her that will probably result in a fight. I think you’d be right on in saying it, but I also understand if you don’t want the conflict.
