I think their friendship is interesting because Dylan tends to look down on others as merely subjects to be inspected, though I feel like Dylan sees Will as more of an equal to a degree, recognizing his intellect. This also brings out a more calculating side to Will while he still maintains his usual good-natured demeanor. It accentuates how different the two because although they’re both smart and observant, Will is still a friendly person overall that likes to talk to people just to make friendships and not just for him to observe.

That’s how I see it, at least. XD
