“Hello everyone, and welcome to Total Drama Tumblr: Second Glances. I’m Phoebe Carillo, the hostess with the mostess! Today we have a special treat; one of the most recently eliminated guests, fresh off the island, put your hands together for Lightning!” Phoebe announced, and it was Lightning’s cue to come onstage.
Lightning walked on the stage from the side. She looked like a mess. Her bright blue hair was messy, her outfit drooped on her body, and her eyes were rimmed with red, but she seemed to have a determined set to her walk. She stepped to her couch and sat down, just giving Phoebe and the audience a small wave.
The audience gave an “awww” in pity as she came on the stage in such a fashion. Phoebe even felt a little bad. “Hey there, sweetie, so, I’m sure your elimination must have been devastating to you.” she said. “Tell me, did you expect to be the one going home?”
Lightning shook her head, looking at the floor. “No, I really didn’t.” She said sadly, raising her eyes. “I didn’t have any enemies or anything! I just don’t know what happened-” Her face abruptly colored bright red and she shoved her vision back to the ground. “Or maybe I do. I really should have seen it coming.”
Phoebe listened intently to Lightning as she tried to reason her elimination. “Throughout the season you did almost get eliminated a couple times; did you last further than you thought you would when you first arrived on the island?” she asked.
“No, I didn’t.” She took a deep breath. “This is going to sound silly, but I really thought I was going to make it all the way, even when I had those close calls. There really was a lot going for me. I had a really strong team, and I was even counted as a key player! It kind of shows how quickly things change on this show. I wasn’t prepared for Chris knowing those kind of… personal things in the embarassment challenge.” At the mention of the embarrassment challenge, her face flared red again with shame at the thought of what had happened.
“I see; it truly is amazing how rapidly the tides shift in Total Drama.” she echoed. “Though now that you’re here, is there anyone in particular you’re rooting for? Pepper, perhaps?” she prodded.
