Bastien got beat up so often in high school that he fell into the habit of locking himself in empty lockers during passing periods and lunch so bullies would think he was already pummeled and stuffed in a locker. Because he is an expert illusionist and escapist, he learned to make himself comfortable in such tight spaces and could easily eat, read, and do his homework in the dark locker.
