The issue is that they got rid of his MPD. You cannot ‘get rid’ of a mental illness by the push of a button, in fact, you very often can’t even rid yourself of it with decades of psychotherapy and medication, it only ‘helps’. By taking it (completely) away so easily makes a mockery of the real struggle of having a mental illness, and spreads already popular believes that people can just ‘get over it’.
And TD is a show about stereotypes. Each character gets their ‘stereotype’ in their bio—like Dawn is ‘The Moonchild’, and Courtney is ‘The A Type’—Mike’s ‘stereotype’ is his disorder. He is ‘The Multiple Personality Disorder’. Not only is that terrible because he is LITERALLY defined by his disorder, but mental illnesses are not stereotypes. It is the same as labeling someone ‘The Clinical Depression’, ‘The Anxiety’, ‘The Bipolar Disorder’—it is absolutely not okay, and incredibly insensitive to people with mental disorders and the people that care about those with mental disorders, whether or not the disorder they have is MPD/DID. Mike is their representation on mental illness, and the way they handled it was horrible.So, from the Total Drama Fan.base,WE DEMAND FOR at least YOUR APOLOGY ABOUT MIKE’S MPD PORTRAYL.

You, ma’am, cannot consider yourself “the whole Total Drama Fandom”. You typed out this message to them, asking for an apology of how they handled Mike. Mike is a CARTOON CHARACTER from something we call a CARTOON. People like you these days can’t take jokes and take offense from just about everything that isn’t meant to be offensive. Everybody have different opinions but yet you sat there, typed out this message complaining, explaining and demanding on the behalf of the WHOLE TOTAL DRAMA FANDOM? Yeah. no.
Go get a sense of humor. Total Drama tries to make the best out of things but yet you look for the negativity in Mike’s character just so you can complain and feel like as if they are being offensive.
Please, don’t ever do this again. AND NEVER EVER SPEAK ON BEHALF OF EVERYBODY IN THE TOTAL DRAMA FANDOM. YOU’RE ONE DAMN PERSON. Not thousands, ONE.
