Alright, so let me preface by saying that my opinion or tolerance of disturbing/unsettling things may be different than yours. However, I’ll give you my opinion and you can then decide if they’re something you want to watch.
I am someone with generalized anxiety disorder, but I personally love the dhmis videos. They aren’t particularly triggering for me, but rather fascinating commentaries on the modern media with a candy coated guise.
They are in fact creepy videos, though. That’s part of their shock value. If you’re easily scared, then they may not be the videos for you. I can’t really explain it without pretty much spoiling the videos, so SPOILERS BELOW.
DHMIS: The first video turns very dark very quickly, with practically no warning. There is gore (nothing extreme), seizure-like motions of the puppets, and tense violin music in the background. To be honest there’s nothing visually too awful about it, unless things like raw meat or animal organs freak you out. The implications can be frightening and the shock value of something so bright and cute turning so dark so quickly can be terrifying to some, so there’s that warning.
DHMIS2: This one is more obvious with its intentions from the get-go, with a playful but sadistic romp through the whole song that progressively gets creepier. This one has much more blatant gore with a higher intensity. There is blood and flesh melting off of the bones of one of the characters towards the end, which screams of agony. I’d say the second one is creepier, but less shocking. If you watch the first one and it was a little too much, the second one will likely be much too much for you.
I hope this was helpful; both videos are creepy and frightening, but not horribly so depending on your tolerance to such things.
