Ringo gave an annoyed grunt, hating that the awkward tension was hindering their conversation. He moved in front of Rodney, hand still holding his and extended his free hand in an extended brofist.
"Dude, you’re one o’ ‘da coolest guys I ever met!" he exclaimed, face flashing red for a moment, "Don’t ever worry ‘bout ramblin’, a’ight?"
Rodney grinned, raising his hand to return the brofist. The tension seemed to be dissipating. Though a few small thoughts were dancing around in the back of Rodney’s mind, making it hard for him to completely calm down. ”I’m glad you think so!” Rodney blushed at the compliment, “You’re pretty cool too and I’m way glad we’re friends!”
His expression softened momentarily, then returned to it’s usual chipperness. “Gotcha. From now on I’ll just ramble my heart out!”
"Good!" Ringo replied with a dumb laugh, "There ain’t nothin’ wrong ‘wit us holdin’ hands then! Erryone has their own personal way o’ expressin’ their bonds, and this can obviously be one of ours!" He then noticed what he said and chuckled nervously, "Well, if it ain’t too awkward, o’course."
"As it should be!" he replied, before spinning back to his original walking place, "Ramble on, m’Rod!"
"Us expressing our bond…" Rodney repeated with a goofy smile on his face, chuckling a bit. "I like it. And it really isn’t very awkward at all! To be honest, I really like you— …it! I mean it!… Holding your hand, I mean! …That doesn’t make me weird, does it?"
"Magnifico!" Ringo exclaimed, before looking at Rodney confusedly, "Nah, man! It ain’t weird at all! ‘Sides, I kinda… like it!" He turned his head a little bit to hide his face for a moment, beginning to walk forward again, still grasping Rodney’s hand.
"Well you like it and I like it. We both like it!" Rodney smiled, squeezing Ringo’s hand slightly. He looked up at the taller male, blushing slightly. His free hand tugged at the bottom of his cardigan nervously as he contemplated what to do next. Rodney moved slightly closer to Ringo as they walked, "Say…Do you think I could try something?"
Ringo snickered, “That’s likable!” He looked down at his shorter teammate and shrugged, “Well, yeah, I guess so! Try whatever ‘ya wanna try!”
Rodney paused. Taking a deep breath, he turned his body to face Ringo. He moved in close to the taller male then paused, looking unsure for a moment but then shook off any hesitation. Rodney moved onto his tip toes, filling in that gap of height as he brought their faced closer together as he gently, very gently pressed his lips to Ringo’s in a soft kiss. It was quick, and then he pulled away. Rodney’s face as red as a tomato as he looked off to the side. “Just that…”
