Character: Fitz

Alright, so in season one, Fitz found a porcupine and it became his pet. My headcanon is that Fitz’s favorite animal (or one of them, at least) is the porcupine. I say this because he really identifies with the little creature.

Think about it. They’re spiny and abrasive on the outside. If you try to get near then and they don’t want you to, you’re going to get a hand full of spinies. However, their rough exterior is just that— an exterior. Underneath the spines, they’re vulnerable creatures. I like to think that Fitz is very much the same. Underneath all the snark and abrasiveness, he’s vulnerable. He feels weak when people try and get past the surface. When people try to get close to him, it threatens him. So he figuratively curls up like a porcupine and puts on that rough armor of spines.
