Things may be terrible but know that no matter what someone is always going to care about you and love you with all their heart for exactly who you are. Things may be strained with your parents at the moment but in the end you're still their child. Live in a way that makes you happy and they'll come around someday. Some things take longer then others though so keep patience in your heart, things will look up.

Yeah, I figure things could take a long time. I’m a few days short of being out to them for a year now, and even in that short time there’s been a bit of progress. I’m hoping that with this second year I could even get them to start calling me Jack. That’s wishful thinking, but one can dream, no?

Things are just kind of complicated right now. Got a lot going on, and I’ve been taking larger steps in my recovery than I’m used to. Plus this time of year is just generally rough for me, but I manage.
