When Adelia saw him, a smirk lit up her face. She made her way towards him, her pace quickening.
“Derek!” she called out in and icy tone, then pounced at him, slamming him against the well.
“Now tell me and do not lie. Did you vote to eliminate me?” she asked, hissing softly into his ear, pinning his wrists above his head.
As Adelia ran towards him he attempted to get away, but to no avail. She had him pinned against the wall, he had no chance of being able to defend himself now. Derek cringed as she asked the question, though he did not answer. If he told the truth she would kill him, if he lied she could tell, if he said nothing she would no he voted for her. Anyway this went, he was going to die.She snorted in disgust. “As if you even need to say it. Caroline was so kind as to tell me how you and Cleo not only voted against me, but made Somber CHANGE his vote. I could still be in the competition had Somber’s vote not changed.” she informed him, glaring hatefully.
“You little piece of trash; I will maim you until you’re nothing but an unrecognizable pile of lawn clippings.” she hissed with a tone that was sharp enough to wound. She let go of one of his wrists, and pulled out her knife, pressing the blade to his neck slightly.
“I could have gotten away from it all. I could have gone to the top and won. I could have escaped. But now… now I’ll have to return back home to my father. That should be fun. I wonder what he’ll make me do for him this time? I owe him now, I guess. Though even if I didn’t he’d make me wear those awful costumes and please his friends. Though you don’t care. You were campaigning for me to go back to that. You want me to go back to that misery.” she spat in his face, pressing the blade against his neck harder, breaking the first layer of skin.
Tears began to fall from Derek’s eyes. He was not upset over the fact that he was going to die, but he was upset over how much pain he had cause everyone. First Malina and Sonny, and now Adelia too. Derek listened quietly as Adelia cut open his next, after a few minutes of silence he replied. “No..I don’t believe that you should be miserable, I voted for you because I did not understand. You never told me why you were here, so I could not have known what you were going back to. I apologize, but it is already done….and if you truly hate him, then kill him or run. Why not just do that.”“You’re right, you don’t understand.” she said, and began to slowly saw at his neck, drawing blood as each edge of the serrated knife tugged and pulled at his flesh.
“I… I have my reasons.” she said coldly, never daring to admit that he was the one she truly feared. The power that horrible man held over her.
“Your apology is worthless; the damage you’ve caused…. you’ve already resigned me to my fate, you filthy rat!”
Derek listened to her response, by now the cut on his neck had finally begun to hurt but in all honestly he barely felt anything. He responded, “Then help me to understand, I swear I can still help you if you let me.”“If there’s one thing I despise, it’s people who lie to me.” she said. “And you seem like just the type to be a liar, just to save your own life.” she said, pulling the knife away for a brief moment. She licked the blood off, stepping away momentarily.
Derek sighed, and quickly responded. “Do you honestly believe I care about my own life? I’m supposed to be dead. If I was dead then you could still be there, you could’ve won.” Derek turned around, he snatched the knife out of her hand in a split second. “Here’s the proof.” Derek turned the knife around and stabbed himself in the chest. He pulled the knife out and handed it back to Adelia. Then he fell over on the floor unconscious.Adelia rolled her eyes, unimpressed by his display. “Trying to rob me of my own achievement, are you?” she said, looking as he fell unconscious.
“Hmph. Very well.” she murmured, grabbing him by his hair and dragging him back to her room. “I’m not done with you, you little shit. You campaigned to get rid of me….” she knew he couldn’t her, but didn’t care.
She took him back to her room, tying him to a chair in her room. “Well, I can’t have him dying on me just yet…” she murmured, and fixed up his chest wound.
As Derek blacked our, he had begun to flashback, watching his life passed before him as he died. He saw his parents attacking him, he saw him bleeding dead on the floor of the orphanage, he saw when he had came here. He saw Ringo, Rodney, And….Kelsey. What had he done. Suddenly he was being dragged back, back towards the life he had tried to leave. Derek woke up suddenly, a few hours later gasping for breath.
Adelia looked up from her sewing machine, seeing Derek open his eyes. “Oh, you’re awake.” she said calmly. She walked over, making sure the ropes binding him to the chair were tight.
“I wonder wondering if you’d ever wake up; I stitched up your grotesque wound but you left quite the bloodstain in the hall.” she mused.
