Have you heard of Ban Bossy? It’s the new initiative from Lean In and the Girl Scouts that’s trying to ban “bossy” and similar words that are used to bring down girls that are ambitious, take risks, and speak up. By changing the way we treat girls who lead, hopefully our generation will someday see more women in leadership roles.

Okay this seriously needs to get promoted because it came on the radio this morning and my mum went on a huge rant about how ridiculous it was and that nobody ever worries about being ‘bossy’. I countered this with “What sounds more negative, bossy or a good leader” and she froze. She still refuses to admit there’s a difference in language used to describe girls and boys.
