I get annoyed whenever I see little girls singing “Let It Go.” Between anxiety disorders and accepting my sexuality, I’ve spent half my life engaged in struggles that I felt I had to hide. To me, that song is a celebration of how much I’ve overcome. I understand that it’s this great thing because it’s empowering the next generation of girls to be themselves, but when they sing it, I just want to say, “Shut up. You’re 8. What the hell have you had to conceal?”
