They are most certainly allowed, but to save confusion and allow a clean slate, they must be as if they were never used in TDC. For example, I might use Bastien, but in an essence it would not be the Bastien that competed in TDC, but rather an alternate version that lives out his plot and purpose in Sound City. C:
