Writing a little bloop before work because closure.

Dear Journal,

It’s been a few months since I’ve gotten off of that crazy show. Monica and I are still living in the city, and although many of the friends I made on the island have gone their separate ways, we run into each other now and again. It’s a bit strange how something that only encompassed a couple months of my life made such an impact, you know?

Jack paused, tapping his chin. He wasn’t sure what to write next, but felt as though he should jot down some sort of thought for posterity’s sake.

Anyways, I’m writing now because Monica got me this journal; we’re going on a trip to Europe in a few days and she insists we’ll want to catalog our journey. Cute as ever, am I right? Well, I’ve never been one to consistently keep a journal or anything of that nature, so I figured I’d try and get in the habit before we leave.

Jack chuckled and glanced over at Monica, who was busily packing her suitcase. Monica caught his glance and gave a wry smile.

“You’re actually going to humor me? You didn’t seem all that enthused about keeping a diary.” she teased, winking.

“Anything for you, my dear.” Jack retorted with a dramatic wave of his hand.

I have to admit, I wasn’t keen on having to write this much, but when she started talking about the scrapbook she was going to make from this and all the photos she takes when we get back… it’s too hard not to give into those whims of hers. She’s just too adorable when she gets all artsy!

Jack leaned back in his chair, looking at the single page he’d filled with his sloppy handwriting.

“How much should I be writing in this thing?” he asked, eying his girlfriend.

“A twelve page thesis, at least.” Monica said in a matter-of-fact tone, but her amused grin broke character.

Jack glanced back down at the notebook, then to Monica once more.

“I’m going to need a thicker journal, then.”
