His emerald eyes flickered in the spotlights, and he gave a coy smile as the first question was asked of him. He paused for thought, pondering what all to disclose to the audience. There certainly was nothing to hide, but mundane details weren’t particularly interview material.

Meanwhile, the snake that had been on stage slithered out of the man’s sleeve and coiled around his left arm to rest. It was an affectionate gesture, as the snake much liked Bastien’s body heat due to being an exothermic creature. Bastien smiled down at his scaly friend, a paternal glimmer in his eyes. He patted the snake’s head gently with his index and middle finger, the two fingers softly massaging in circles on the reptile’s head. The snake closed its eyes and gave a contented hiss, akin to the purr of a cat.

Bastien then looked back to Kelsey to answer her question.

“Quite a lot has transpired, might I say!” he began, and gave a jolly laugh. His eyes twinkled as he spoke. He was truly born to be under the spotlight, as he radiated flair and personality with every subtle gesture and expression.

“For one matter, I’ve moved in with my girlfriend, Miss Caroline.” he said, and a doe-eyed expression swept across his face. He blushed slightly, and reached up with his free arm to brush a navy blue strand of hair out of his eyes.

“We live in an apartment in the city, since the accommodations were given to us free of charge. We plan to move into a house in the forseeable future, though.” he said, the misty expression dissipating into one of pure elation.
