So, this week is Narcolepsy awareness week. Im only posting this to educate people. The first picture was before I felt the symptoms, the middle picture was when I felt it. The last picture is me now, diagnosed and medicated. I do feel this is something people should know about, it is very misunderstood and under recognized. It effects 5 in 10,000 people approximately. However those 5 will take up to a few decades to figure it out. I was one of the lucky ones. It took me about 6 years. I knew something was wrong and dealt with it. I never take this disorder and look at it as misfortune, I look at it as a blessing in disguise. It’s also one of the many reasons I’m inspired to be a neurologist or neurosurgeon. Trust your gut, if you think something is wrong, tell your doctors. Believe in yourself and never let anything take you down. If anyone has questions I’m always open to answering to educate people.
