Honestly, it’s strange to finally have a good relationship with my dad. Growing up I rarely spoke to him and I was afraid of him because I didn’t know him. We lived together but all I knew about him is that he was a threat mom made when I did something wrong.

Now we talk. He is trying to be supportive with the transgender thing. He works harder every day to understand what I’m going through and be there for me. Things are slowly becoming better.

I’m so glad I finally feel like I have a relationship with my dad.
