PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."
Happy Saturday, everyone. I peeled myself out of bed and made a cup of cider in my new favorite mug- Milo got it for me at the Owl City concert the other night. I think I’m just going to putter around and get some chores done today.

Adam’s concert last night took my breath away. I honestly still can’t get over it- my brain is processing every moment.

I’ve been listening to Owl City since sixth grade- I’m not in my freshman year of college. Adam’s music has gotten me through so much, through so many emotions and trials- his music is beyond powerful, and it was able to be an outlet for me to resonate with all these years.

I’d seen him in concert back in 2012, and yet somehow this was even more breathtaking than it was then- and as always, the band was nothing short of incredible. He opened with one of my favorite songs from his new album, one that I consider my anthem- “Bird With a Broken Wing”.

He played two of his worship songs, “My Everything” and “Meteor Shower”. I was in the front row in the balcony, and I looked down to see the people on the floor with hands raised, so many worshiping, singing along in praise. I couldn’t stop beaming the entire time, my palms outstretched as well that I would be able to have a moment of worship in the middle of a concert.

During “Beautiful Times”, I started to tear up.

When he performed “This Isn’t the End”, I completely broke down in the most cathartic way. This is the song that my senior yearbook quote is from.

“Love is confusing and life is hard,
You fight to survive ‘cause you made it this far.”

Every moment was stunning- the venue was small so even from up in the balcony, being in the front row gave me such a vivid view of Adam and his live band. The energy from everyone and hearing the talent of someone I respect and admire so much… it’s beyond what words can express.

Thank you, to Adam, to his talented band, to everyone who was there. That was so amazing.

Tonight’s concert was breathtaking. Adam Young, thank you for your talent, your ebullient creativity, and your powerful music.

Love is confusing and life is hard; you fight to survive ‘cause you’ve made it this far. It’s all too astounding to comprehend; it’s just the beginning, this isn’t the end.

— “This Isn’t the End” by Owl City, aka Adam Young

Owl City music gets me so emotional. Some of these songs are just so beautifully composed that is hits you like a tidal wave; it makes my emotions swell every time I listen to some of these songs. It’s such powerful music, it’s astounding.
