PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."

My Bible Teacher: I believe women and men should be equal in many ways, but I also think that people focus too much on rights, making it an idol.

Mrs. K, I love you dearly. You’re the bomb.com, but no. ono

Reconciling my worldly beliefs with what the Bible tells me is difficult, especially when I have to take into account the context in which certain verses are set. It’s worth it, but it’s a lot of thinking to be doing.

So today in Bible class we learned about how we should not be judging people who are not Christians, and basically the more we do that the more we’re condemning ourselves, because if they’re not Christian, why are we holding them to Christian standards and laws? We should have nothing but love for them instead of judgment and a “holier than thou” attitude.

I like my Bible class.

My AP US History teacher is so fantastic.

He is really passionate about what he teaches and wants to prepare us for the AP test, but he’s also very understanding that people have a lot going on in their lives. There are people (including me), who have a lot of outside things weighing against us, and he takes that into account and even gives full credit for late assignments, lets people sleep in class if they had a particularly bad night (be it due to insomnia or some drama in their lives), and just really reaches out to his students.

I just think he’s such a fantastic teacher.

In fact, all of my teachers are; just my AP US History teacher and Bible teacher in particular.

Like seriously.

My Bible teacher started crying when she found out she’d almost outed me to the class as trans*, she was so freaking upset that she’d been so insensitive and I was just kind of jarred that she cared so deeply about what she’d done. Not to mention she’s just really respectful of my identity and agrees that my feelings are 100% valid.

I love my school…. just not the students.
