PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."

When you worship, God doesn’t care that you don’t hit every note perfectly or that every sentence of your prayer is structured correctly. He cares that your worship is genuine and that it comes from the depths of your soul. Worship God in the beauty of His holiness. He’s not looking for accuracy. He’s looking for authenticity.

Needed this.

I demanded God to explain Himself, to explain our suffering, so He went one further and entered our pain – and in a tomb, He initiated healing, the reversal of all that had ever gone wrong. I demanded a diagram, but He gave us a song.

NGL, ‘Christians’ who preach hate get under my skin so quickly it’s ridiculous. I believe in God and I love Him- I am a Christian. And let me tell you, that even while reading His word and doing my research, I never once felt like I was hated by Him for being queer? Because, here’s some news: God’s not about hating people. He’s really not. Christian or otherwise, we’re all His children, and God ain’t a hateful parent. At all. Literally the entire New Testament is about LOVE. Unconditional, freely given love. You wanna know who the people are that get called out in the New Testaments? It’s the conservative religious leaders. The merchants in the temples trying to make a profit off of God. The people who act like they love God, but turn and use their religion to belittle and criticize others. Not even the prostitutes and the tax collectors ((at the time, tax collectors were HATED by everyone)) are considered bad compared to the religious bigots. Isn’t that something?

I could go on for quite a while explaining everything, but I’ll stop right about here. Basically, all these hateful ‘Christians’ need to open that Good Book they talk so much about so they can stop missing the ENTIRE point of what they proclaim to believe.

I appreciate the sentiment behind the “Why Did God Create Atheists” posts, but at the same time idk because it’s like… God didn’t “create” atheists. He made people, and with that He gave us the choice of whether to follow Him- whether we’re atheist or not is on us, because if we were all created as Christian it would be meaningless to follow Him since forced love/obedience isn’t love/obedience. I don’t think this makes much sense because I just woke up, but oh well.

This is the year I’m going to treat myself like a treasure and love myself to the ends of the earth.

The One who made the stars and the cosmos made me, and it’s about time I start acting like it.

Another video. This one is one of my favorites, it’s a free verse poem, and goodness it’s beautiful. It has some of my favorite quotes.

“Don’t be jealous just because your favorite artist bends words, and my favorite artist bends galaxies.”

“You were created because someone else was creative.”

“We’re not the product of random chances, in fact we’re not even the vine, we’re actually the branches in the same way we’re not the artist, we’re actually the canvas.”

“Even though other artists once they have broken equipment, they start to make excuses, but God instead doesn’t refuse us, and neither does he accuse us, he redeems us in Jesus, promises never to lose us. So, stop saying that you’re dirt, stop saying you’re scum of the earth. You ought to be careful about, how you talk about someone else’s work.

A friend of mine shared this with me tonight. It gave me just the pick-me-up I needed, so now I’m sharing this with all of you.

Don’t know how many peeps like me are out there, but I’m a Christian trans dude, and y'all know as well as me that being religious and trans can be super freaking complicated.

That being said, I’d like to share a song with you that I really resonate with as someone with a deviant sexuality/gender. I know I interpret it outside the original context, but taking the lyrics at face value and having my interpretation really gives me solace when I’m fretting about being both Christian and trans.

The song is “Welcome Home (You)” by Brian Littrell. It’s basically about how even when the rest of the world is against you, God knows you and is always super enthusiastic to see you when you come to Him.

Some choice lyrics that make my day every day (particularly nice for male identifying queer peeps since the song does say “son”):

“When I left home to be who I am
Some people said "No Way”
But I laid it all down, gave everything
In my head rang the words that my Father said

“You’re never far
I will be where you are
and when you come to me
I will open my arms

Welcome Home, you
I know you by name
How do you do?
I shine because of you today
So come and sit down
Tell me how you are
I know son, it’s good just to see your face.”“

Don’t day that you’re dirt
That you’re the scum of the earth
You better be careful how you treat Somone Else’s work

— –Jefferson Bethke

He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us oh
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If His grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

That He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

My Bible Teacher: I believe women and men should be equal in many ways, but I also think that people focus too much on rights, making it an idol.

Mrs. K, I love you dearly. You’re the bomb.com, but no. ono

Reconciling my worldly beliefs with what the Bible tells me is difficult, especially when I have to take into account the context in which certain verses are set. It’s worth it, but it’s a lot of thinking to be doing.

So today in Bible class we learned about how we should not be judging people who are not Christians, and basically the more we do that the more we’re condemning ourselves, because if they’re not Christian, why are we holding them to Christian standards and laws? We should have nothing but love for them instead of judgment and a “holier than thou” attitude.

I like my Bible class.

“You were created because Someone Else was creative.”

“We are not the artist, we are actually the canvas.”

I can’t get over this poem. I legitimately just started weeping when I heard it. How perfect and uplifting is this? Just… wow. Breathless.

This video gives me the chills. I just can’t even, you guys.

Knowing my friends are praying for me when times are rough makes me feel so hopeful, even when my mind tells me there’s nothing to hope for.
