In Native American ((and other cultures too I think?)) the concept of having a spirit animal is sacred and deeply rooted in their spiritual/cultural beliefs. So when people outside of that culture use the term “spirit animal”, it appropriates and trivializes the deep importance of the concept to the culture it was originally from.

So please don’t use the term “spirit animal” unless you are of a culture that it’s relevant to. c:
