Pokemon Emerald Giveaway/Contest!!!~

If you all read my previous post, you’ll know that I’m starting an Emerald playthrough while I wait for Pokemon OR/AS to come out. That being said, I exceeded 600 followers about two weeks ago. That’s a hell of a lot of people, if you ask me!

So, to celebrate, I’d like to hold a contest/giveaway. c:

I want you guys to nickname my team. If you read the previous post, you’ll know that my team was chosen by a randomizer to spice things up and make me use Pokemon I normally wouldn’t. And to further make things interesting, I want you all to nickname my Pokemon.

There will be 6 winners, one for each Pokemon that gets names. Of course, the winner will be the one whose name I choose. You can submit any name that fits with the R/S/E character limit for Pokemon names. It can be any theme, or whatnot!

If I’m really torn, I may put my favorite names to a vote for you all to help me decide between the best names.

Here are the Rules:
-You must be following me. I want my followers to participate, and I want to give back to my lovely followers. I don’t care if you follow me because of this giveaway; if you’re following me at the time the winners are chosen, you will be counted.
-You can only suggest one name for each Pokemon. Even if I like many of the names you suggest, I will pick a different winner for each Pokemon on my team.
-If two people suggest the same name, the person who suggested it first will get credit.
-You must submit your suggestion via my submit box or ask box, along with an explanation as to why you are picking that name. ((i.e. if you were suggesting a name for an Absol, you could say “I reccommend Shadow because it is a dark-type and it looks vaguely like Shadow the Hedgehog!”)) The more deep or clever the nickname is, the better!
-You must live in the US. I’m really sorry, but I can’t pay for out of country shipping! ;o;
-You must be willing to give me your address so I can have it sent directly to you!
-Once the winners are announced, I will contact them. If the winners to do not respond to me within 48 hours, I will pick the second place as the new winner. So keep an eye out for the results!

-You must also reblog this, so it can get spread around! I will check when I pick the winner. ;o

This isn’t required, but I highly suggest the winners upload pics with their prizes when they get them. ;)

Now what ARE the prizes, you ask? Well, let me tell you!
For each winner, they will get $15-$20 worth of merch of that Pokemon! If you have a favorite Pokemon in the evolutionary line, you can request merch of the pre-evolution instead, of course. Now, plushies are my primary goal to give out, but not every Pokemon has a plush for them! I’ll do my best to find some, but in the event that I can’t, I’ll use other merch like figurines, clothing, Pokemon cards, and whatever other cool things I can find of that Pokemon!

As for the deadline, I’m unsure. I want to start my playthrough tonight or tomorrow, and I don’t want to wait too long to nickname them. So here’s what I propose: I will accept submissions up until I reach Slateport, where the Name Rater lives. However, if I reach Slateport before October 15th, I will put my playthrough on hold and wait until October 15th to pick the winners. Given that I won’t play much during the weekdays, I will take a while to make it to Slateport anyways. Follow the tag “emerald grump” to check and see my progress if you don’t want to search through all my other posts every day. c:

Exciting News!!! Attention all Followers!!!

In celebration of OR/AS coming out soon, I’m going to do an Emerald playthrough as soon as I finish my current Pokemon Y run!

And to make it extra special, for the first time I’ll be doing a completely randomized team, using the wyncorporation.com pokemon generator.

Of course, I’m setting a few rules:
1. No legendaries.
2. No Pokemon you can only get post-game ((like Beldam))
3. If my randomized team has three or more Pokemon of a shared type, I am allowed to redo. However, I am only alloted 3 redos, so if I use my final redo and get a team with all water types, I’m rolling with it. So it’s risky.
4. Pokemon that have to evolve via trading do not count, as I have no means of trading.

Everything else is normal. No nuzlocke or anything, I hate those. I’ll probably post about my progress here or there, with my tag as “emerald grump” ((except on mobile where tags don’t work anymore, but I’ll go back later and edit in the tag)).

So, I’m about to do my randomizer….

First roll: Linoone, Skarmory, Metagross, Exploud, Shedinja, Hariyama.
I can’t use Metagross, so I’m using redo #1.

Second roll: Solrock, Rhydon, Cradilly, Swellow, Gardevoir, Altaria.

That’s three rock-types in a game where half the game is all water types, so redo #2 is being used….

Third roll: Weezing, Chimecho, Bellossom, Wigglytuff, Manectric, Swampert.

Well there it is! I’m not too excited about Chimeco, but all the other draws are pretty good; also glad I get to keep my starter. ;u;

So, there’s no use for my final roll, but let’s see what it would have been for fun ((I cannot use this next roll)).

Final roll: Torkoal, Skarmory, Salamence, Claydol, Wailord, Illumise.

Not bad at all, but I have to go with roll #3!

So, my Emerald playthrough will be starting probably tonight or tomorrow!

Now I pose some questions for you all.~ Answer via inboxing me or replying to this post if you can. ouo
1. Are there any other rules I should impose? I don’t want to do anything impossible, but some random restrictions could make for and interesting run.
2. Should I post pictures and possibly videos of my playthrough? Not like a Let’s Play, but maybe a video of me doing each boss battle or posting images of my progress?

I really hope to have feedback from you guys, because this sounds like fun! Also, it’d be cool if some of you want to play along with me to kill time before OR/AS come out. ^u^
