PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."

If you ever wonder how much feedback matters to a fanfic writer, just know that I managed to power through an art block and find my muse after three months of not updating a story because two people commented on it that they checked every day for updates and were excited to keep reading.

THAT SHIT GAVE ME SUPER STRENGTH.

“Lonely Hearts Club” Preview/Part 1

Valentine’s Day is approaching, so I’m going to write my first fanfic in quite some time! I had the idea for this a couple of weeks ago, so here goes! I’m using Jack and Adelia, two of my OCs from an old RPG I used to partake in.~ I’ll upload it as I feel inclined I guess. Who knows how long this will be?

—–

Two months. It had been nearly two months, and for the most part it no longer crossed his mind, but there were still days. The most romantic day of the year; that was one of them.

The unintentionally sullen boy walked down the street, hands tucked in pockets, and kept his gaze fixed on the ground. Honestly, he didn’t even want to leave the house, but h'ed been avoiding the world long enough and was starting to run out of mundane necessities at home.

Glancing briefly at the shopping list, the boy tucked it back into his pocket along with his hand and hurried down the road. He dared not look up, for fear of seeing the endless sea of couples. It was a mystery how he would find the store without looking, but he would find a way, certainly.

After quite some time, the murmurs of the city faded, and he realized he’d walked much too far out of his way. Hearing absolutely nothing except faraway footsteps, he glanced upwards, finding himself in the park.

‘What am I even doing?’ he wondered to himself, and in a fit of frustration he plopped down on the nearest bench. As if on queue, his phone vibrated. A little too quickly, he snatched it from his back pocket. It was from her.

'Hey, happy Valentine’s Day! No hard feelings, right? :)’ the message read.

“Yeah…. none.” he muttered aloud. He meant it, really. It was simply a shock to his system, adjusting after the year-long relationship came to a close. The two had been so happy together, but in the end their interests pulled them apart. She went to school to reach for her dreams, and he stayed in the city, unsure of where to go. He felt conflicted… stagnant, even.

As he begin to stir in these thoughts, suddenly the world went dark. Alarmed, he jumped up, and his eyesight returned, though the smell of bubblegum lingered. Someone had placed their hands over his eyes, and he instantly turned to see his assailant.

Before him was a vaguely familiar face, though to his surprise, he found himself looking at a head of curly blue locks.

–to be continued–

I just started working on a very complex Layton fic. It might take quite some time to write…. x.x

I started a separate one like two years ago, but I can’t remember what I had in mind for it, so for now I’m abandoning that and going with the plot line I’ve concocted. I’ll probably be uploading it either my fanfiction.net account or my deviantart account.

Just finished the preface, since it was only like three paragraphs long. XD

Actually, I will be uploading it to deviantart.

So, if you want to read it, my username is IGiveNoCares.

FANFIC:: Total Drama Pokemon AU :: Zoey’s first Pokemon Contest

[[Shut up, I wrote a thing. I just couldn’t stop myself because I love imagining Pokemon contests and shit.]]

Zoey took a deep breath. It was time for her to make her mark on the world of Pokemon contests, and though she ached to show off her hard work, she couldn’t erase the doubts in her mind. <<What if they all laugh at me? There are people competing today who have been doing this for years! This is my first show…>> She shook her head as a way to physically try and and chase away the thoughts. She took a deep breath, looking to her Plusle. She gazed up at her trainer, waving little pompoms in an attempt to encourage Zoey. Although Plusle wasn’t a competition Pokemon, she was just as excited as the others to be cheering on the sidelines.

Today, she would be using three of her Pokemon to put on a dazzling show for the audience. She had been rehearsing for weeks, and she knew they were ready. Countless hours, often working late into the night, they had tirelessly practiced their routine. Although still nervous, Zoey knew she was ready, as were her companions.

“And now, welcome out next contestant, making her stage debut, Zoey!” the crowed roared as they wondered who would be taking the stage. Shaking off her last minute jitters, she looked to the Pokeballs on her belt. “You ready? Let’s rock this!”

Zoey stepped onto the large stage, her petal skirt swaying with every step. She gave a wave to the crowd. It was time.

She tossed the Pokeballs into the air, and with an explosion of cherry blossoms and glimmers, the crowd’s attention first focused on a Togekiss, gliding gracefully through the air. While the audience focused on the jubilee Pokemon, Meganium grounded itseld on the stage, Budew hiding under Meganium’s brilliant flower, one that matched the petal skirt which Zoey wore. Suddenly, Togekiss plummeted, and the crowd gasped in shock. It nosedived, gracefully turning on its axis as it headed straight for the ground. Zoey held her breath slightly as her beloved companion nosedived. However, just before she would hit the ground, The Togekiss turned, swooping upward and over Meganiums head. It was then that Budew jumped out from behind Meganium and landed securely on the back of the Togekiss. The Budew danced across the back of the joyous creature, glowing brilliantly. The crowd gasped in awe as a heavenly sunlight filed the room, despite being indoors. This was Budew’s Sunny Day attack. The light flickered across the remaining glitters from their intitial entrance, and while Togekiss soared along, showing off Budew, Meganium was hard at work on the ground, emitting an enchanting pink missed that filled the air in thin clouds. This was Aromatherapy. The relaxing scent enthralled the crowd, a sweet scent looming in the air.

Meganium then produced a flurry of leaves with Magical Leaf, all glowing with the colors of a rainbow. The leaves shot upwards, surrounding Togekiss and Budew. Togekiss used Extremespeed, whirling the leaves together in a tornado surrounding the two. The crowd could not tear their gaze away as the tornado descending, spinning on the ground, absorbing the pink mist of Aromatherapy. It all collected while Togekiss and Budew waited in the center of the tornado.

Breathless, Zoey stepped forward, mounting her Meganium while the crowd was distracted. Suddenly, a light shone from within the tornado. A glowing orb grew, encompassing the center of the flurry. Then, the orb shot upwards and out of the tornado, exploding like a firework. This was Aura Sphere. As the crowd looked up at the firework, Togekiss and Budew carefully moved backwards so they were just in front of Meganium and Zoey. The finale was approaching. “This is it…” Zoey whispered.

Budew closed his eyes, focusing intently. He glowed a dazzling white, unlike earlier when he used Sunny Day. A film of white glow covered him entirely in the center of the tornado, until finally it burst, filling the room with a Dazzling Gleam. Sparks danced in the air as the tornado dissipated, sending the flurry of leaves up with the sparkles. When the air settling, Togekiss was gently perched atop Meganium’s head, only the tip of Togekiss’ toes touching him, and Zoey posed triumphantly on her Togekiss’ back, with Budew on her shoulder. They froze, in their ending pose.

There was silence for but a moment. Then, the crowd erputed in cheers. Such an elegant, glittering display caused fanfare beyond Zoey’s wildest dreams. The judged watched in awe, unable to believe this was her first competition.

Zoey stood in the limelight, and she knew this was where she felt home.

I’m working on a Mike fanfic. It’s been a year since I’ve tried my hand at exposition, so it’s pretty ugly. I tried, though. AND THAT’S WORTH SOMETHING, DAMMIT.

Here’s the first part of my fic. It takes place when Mike is age 8.

—–

When I was little, I never got out much; partly because my parents didn’t want me to, and partly because I didn’t want me to. As soon as I was old enough to be aware of my condition, I started to keep myself strictly homebound. I would go to school and come straight home; I had nowhere else to be. The few times a month I’d be in the real world, it would be because my mom needed to stop by the grocery store on the way home from school or some other errand. Even then, I was always kept away from large, crowded places—it was for my own safety.

That being said, it really surprised my mom when I told her I wanted to accompany her to the mall one December afternoon.

She didn’t hear me at first; she was busy making sure she had remembered to put the coupons in her purse. I cleared my throat, and then asked again.

“Mom, can I come with you?” my high-pitched voice cut through the sounds of shuffling papers. This time, she paused what she was doing and looked towards me; the surprise apparent in her expression.

“You want to come with? Mike, I’m going to the mall.” She said, thinking that I didn’t understand the situation. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as the thought of me coming with crossed her mind.

“I know, mom, but I want to come with you.” I persisted, now tugging at the hem of her coat in a childlike fashion. Mom hesitated at first; I don’t think she knew exactly how to react.

“Mike, it’s very crowded there,” she began, her voice wary. She was looking for the right words to tell me to stay home, that she didn’t want to have to worry about me if I tagged along. Noticing the crestfallen look in my eyes as she struggled for the words of rejection, she took another pause.

“Sweetheart, why do you want to come with?” she now asked me. “You’ve never asked to come shopping with me before.” She added, trying to express her confusion to the younger me. When she asked for a reason, I smiled brightly, declaring my mission.

“I want to go see Santa!” I informed her, not waiting for a response before continuing, “Last week, Geoff was talking to his friends about how every year his mom takes him to see Santa at the mall, and he gets to talk to him in person!” my speech quickened as I explained this to her. At the time, I assumed she didn’t know, or else she would have taken me in prior years, right? I mean, meeting Santa isn’t your everyday occurrence.

“He said kids from all over town go see him.” I added for emphasis, trying to express that I did not want to be left out of this.

“But Mike, you already mailed your letter to Santa.” My mom pointed out. I didn’t let this deter me, though. I practically interrupted the end of her sentence, expecting this rebuttal.

“I know, but this year I have a really special request, and he needs to know in person!” I insisted. I bit my lower lip, hoping she would understand how gravely important this was. Mom hesitated again; I know now that she was calculating the risk. The mall was busier than ever at this time of year, packed to the brim with people. She didn’t yet know the specific triggers for my condition, so everything posed a threat in her eyes. For that moment, it was so quiet that I could only hear the dull humming of the radio in the kitchen.

“Well, alright.” She used a worried tone, but I didn’t notice nor care. My eyes lit up, and I hugged her tight before running to get my coat.

“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” I cheered, following her out to the car. Her expression then softened as she helped me into my booster seat.

“You have to promise to stay right by me, though. No wandering off.” Mom warned me, fastening my seatbelt.

“I promise!” I said quickly, so excited that I’d have sold my soul if that was what it cost. I couldn’t wait to see Santa; I had to tell him my request in person.
