This is Fluckite, a gem fusion designed by @jynxcomplex! It’s one of my OCs, Taaffeite, and one of her OCs, Angelite. She’s adorable and I love drawing her.
Then there’s THIS HOMO, Blue Goldstone. Goldstone isn’t actually a gem, but rather it’s glass infused with copper. Thus, he’s at about the same social level as a Pearl. Goldstones are made to be entertainers, and he’s perfectly content with that.
Figuring out the coloring for Titanium Quartz was a bitch but I’m pretty satisfied with this. Originally a defective Clear Quartz, she was experimented on to test the ability to enhance a gem’s being (not just improving them through limb enhancers). It worked, and now we have Titanium Quartz. She promptly used her new abilities to get the fuck out of the lab and run.
So I know there’s a canon Carnelian, but I designed her anyways so here she is. 8D Sometimes you just gotta…. ignore canon for the sake of gemsonas. //shot// She’s meant to be a bodyguard of sorts, and she is the personal Carnelian to Fire Agate, another of my gemsonas.
Since @fuzzy-smiles changed their gemsona to Opalite, I took the liberty of making a new fusion for Charoite and Opalite! This is Rainbow Moonstone, and they’re a lovely amalgam of two gr8 gems. The hair is more wispy and wavy than it should be, but I’ll probably fix it if I decide to color this, I figure.
Boy Howdy, it’s been a while since I’ve broken out the tablet! I’ve still got a commission to finish ((I’ve had the most massive art block as of late, yikes)), so I decided to get myself back in the groove so hopefully tomorrow I can have a blast with that. OvO
This is Charoite’s second form- his outfit after he regenerated for the first time. I’ve given his backstory before, but to recap: He was another Kindergarten gem, and woke up during the tail end of the war. He didn’t know any about what he was supposed to be doing or what he really was, besides any instinctive knowledge he was “born” with.
This little tyke wandered around for quite a while before meeting an individual named Galileo Galilei, who taught Charoite about the stars and planets above that he’d been observing. This resonated with Charoite, and he became resolute to get to space, having this innate knowledge that his “home” was there. Unfortunately, he didn’t really have any method of getting into space, so he tried the next best thing- he climbed the tallest mountain in Europe, thinking that might get him close enough to reach the moon and stars above.
…that shit didn’t work. The little clod fell right off the peak of the mountain and ended up resting in his gem for quite some time before regenerating into the outfit pictured above. While in his gem, it actually got washed into a stream, carrying him all the way out to the ocean. When he regenerated, he was on the shores of an unfamiliar place. Not too long after that, he would encounter Opalite.

There are a ton of different gems to choose from, several shapes, and several places to put the gem(s)!
Not only that but there’s pretty much no limit to what body type your gemsona can have! You can customize EVERYTHING. You can even add more arms if you want to make a gem fusion!
You can give them cool outfits and cool eye(s) and cool classes and pretty much cool anything! I literally made this one in live five minutes so if you actually take your time to make one just imagine how cool it can be.
I FINALLY made a colorful version of Rainbow Moonstone, the fusion of my gemsona ((Charoite)) and @fuzzy-smiles‘ ((Opalite)).
Rainbow Moonstone possesses some of the best traits of the two gems that comprise them: the passion and vigor of Charoite with the kindness and generosity of Opalite. On the other hand, Rainbow Moonstone does also have some of the detrimental traits of both parties; they can be overly-dramatic at times, with a shockingly short temper that switches them from calm to livid in an instant. However, they’re gallant and determined, confident in the strengths of the gems that compose them. Their weapon is a form of spear, combining Charoite’s scythe and Opalite’s trident.
@fuzzy-smiles redesigned eir gemsona to be Opalite ((top left)), so I decided to revamp the fusion between Char and em. I present to you, Rainbow Moonstone.
I got a fresh sketchbook and some new inking pens, so I figured I’d try one of those month-long challenges! I don’t know if I’ll update every day, but I do want to finish all 30 drawings.
I’ve chosen @gemsona-hq‘s 30 Day Gemsona challenge because it looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and drawing Charoite is very fun.
With that, here is the first drawing-
Day 1: Introduction
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably seen him before. You’ll learn much more about him over the course of the month, of course, so I’ll just say a bit for now.
He is a gem living on earth with his closest companion, Emerald. He’s small, hasty, and rather defensive, but he’s also passionate and ebullient to no end. He’s much like a shooting star in that he is so intense and bright, but this exlosion of energy can cause him to burn out.
However, no matter how many times Charoite does burn out, he’s a unique shooting star, because he’ll keep coming back for a nother brilliant display. His strongest qualities are the courage to start over after a trauma or trial, and his loyalty and support for those he loves deeply.
I drew a lot of Charoite earlier, and designed each of his regenerations, from when he woke up in Kindergarten to now.
1. Original form, after becoming cognizant in the Kindergarten.
2. A form taken the first time Charoite regenerated. He befriended Galileo, who told him all his theories about the stars, enamoring Charoite with the concept of space. He tried to make it to space my scaling a mountain, though ended up injuring himself back into his gem.
3. The form taken after he met Emerald, who told him of Homeworld. They were honest of the darkness of Homeworld, but assured Charoite of the magnificent wonders across all galaxies, woven between every constellation. Not long after he met Emerald, a monster attacked them- Charoite drew his weapon for the first time, and ended up getting injured due to his lack of battle experience.
4. Charoite’s current form- dealing with some inner demons, he accidentally injured himself to the point where he had to retreat into his gem.
The extremely talented @asphyxion was doing a special on commissions and his art style is my kryptonite, so I had to request a picture of Charoite. This is perfect- beyond what I even envisioned. I am so in love with this I really cannot even begin to describe how gorgeous this is! Please check out his blog and art- he is SO talented.
