PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."

I’m not really heavily involved in the GG fandom online, so I’ll just say this on the whole debaccle.

Yes, having queer representation and role models is really freaking important. I’m a bisexual trans*man, and I’m always on the lookout for people to be speaking out about LGBT rights and whatnot.

Though expecting Egoraptor to be that voice/role model is irrational and ridiculous. He’s straight. We all know that. Not to say that straight people can’t speak out about LGBT+ rights; there’s a lot of cool allies. But asking a straight comedian with a gaming channel where he rarely shows his face to go out of his way to speak on LGBT+ rights and struggles is pretty darn ridiculous if you ask me. It’s not the time nor place for that sort of speech. It’s not the right platform, it doesn’t reach the right audience, and isn’t appropriate for the comedic and lighthearted setting.

If anything, I feel in such an effort it would end up being trivialized or made a joke because the purpose of their channel is to entertain. That is their job, that is why they make the videos. The have fun and entertain us all the while. GG is not for pushing a political agenda.

Now I’m going to go marathon some Sonic ‘06 GG while I try to sleep.

Peace out, lovelies.
