I just realized that Luna Lovegood’s 17th birthday happened while she was imprisoned at Malfoy Manor.

Now I have this horrifying sad image of a cheerful Luna singing happy birthday to herself on the morning of February 13th and when Ollivander asks her what she’s doing she explains that her daddy always sends her a singing letter by owl post at breakfast on her birthday but she doesn’t think the owl can get to her in the cellar, so she’s singing it to herself instead.

And she smiles quite peaceably and tells him, “I’m seventeen now, by the way. That’s rather special, don’t you think? Being seventeen?” and a stricken Ollivander assures her that it is and he forces a smile and leaves her there humming to herself all alone in that dark cellar on her seventeenth birthday.

I had a dream where someone released a version of Harry Potter where everything happened the same except the main three characters were different and they reacted vaguely differently to the events of the books/movies. I can’t remember Harry and Ron’s counterpart names but Hermione was Susan, and she wasn’t a very strong swimmer. Draco shaved off a piece of “Harry’s” hair during a Quidditch match to distract him and throw him off his game.

Molly Weasley knowing her youngest is trans long before Ginny comes out, and reassuring her daughter that “we’ll still get you new clothes as quick as we can, dear. Ron’s hand-me-downs just wont do, will they?”, whenever Ginny worries about her transitioning being a burden to her family.

Molly Weasley immediately accepting the fact that Ron likes girls, “but also wouldn’t mind dating a guy like Krum”, and instead of making a big deal about it, just tells him embarrassing tales of her romantic life.
