PERSONA DANCING ALL OVER MY SOUL
"I generally just tumble around."

I could not stop singing “Walkin’” at work today. And by singing “Walkin’”, I mean I was singing the same three or so lines over and over again. ._.

The girl with the coca-cola

Well she’s got hemiola

Walkin’ to the man in the raincoat~

Sorry not sorry, co-workers.

Got a $7 tip at work and now I feel like the richest man alive. B-)

I actually don’t know if I’ve ever outright said it on here, but for those who are curious, I work at a Mexican fast food restaurant (not really a sit-down restaurant but way higher quality than something like Taco Bell). I do cashiering stuffs, frycook stuffs, and janitorial stuffs. I’m not online at night a lot anymore because I mostly work night shifts and whatnot. ouo

Also, tonight I was working counter and a man had a particularly large order. After he made several changes mid-order and we finally got it sorted out, he gave me a tip! ;u; Because I’m a fast-food worker, it’s super rare to get tipped and I just really appreciated the sentiment more than the money itself. Although I was still pissed about my coworker leaving me her sidework, that really got me through the rest of my shift, as well as the other wonderful customers.

Moral of my last several posts: How you treat a waiter/cashier in the few minutes you interact with them really can make or ruin their day. Not to say you have to be all sunshine and smiles, but just a brief “please” and “thank you”, or a friendly tone can really make a world of difference.

Fun Fact: Customers who are nice literally make my shift every time. Like, there was this family that came by tonight and they were super polite and very pleasant while I took their order, and thanked me several times when I brought their food to them (I work in fast food so that’s not really required). I was so enthralled by how pleasant they were, that when their child made a huge mess of hot sauce on the floor, I didn’t even feel inconvenienced or irritated to clean it, especially because the parents began to apologize for it. It just really makes me happy to do my job when people are polite and easygoing, you know?

bless i have the same shit happen when i have to clean up the pool when we close PREACH IT JACK

I got off work almost an hour late today because the person who did the daytime counter shift didn’t do ANY of her sidework. She left in a hurry as soon as I arrived and I realized minutes later that she didn’t stock anything in the lobby nor bathrooms, and all the tables were filthy with a stack of ten trays waiting for me. I was fuming mad, but I couldn’t just not do it, so I had to do all of her sidework. Oh, by the way, it was Friday today, which means there was a car show in the strip mall’s parking lot. Fridays are insanely busy, so I was still doing her sidework when I should have been starting mine.

Don’t be that person. You don’t get to leave at four just because you’re only scheduled until four. You shouldn’t leave until all your work is done so others don’t have to pick up the slack for your lazy bum.

Protip: Please don’t use your cell phone when you go through a drive-thru. It makes it really hard for the cashier to take your order and usually you make an error or forget something because you’re so distracted telling your mom about this cat you saw on the way home from work yesterday. I’m just trying to do my job, so help me out a little here, please.
