This is a really sloppy draft, but I’m about to start the process of legally changing my name. It’s a bit costly and VERY convoluted, honestly. I’m posting this because I want y’all to know that any trans bloggers ((followers or not)) can hit me up at any time if you want advice or help getting all the paperwork and jumping through the hoops. Like I said, I’m just now starting the process so I can tell you how it goes, as it goes. I want to be a resource to anyone going through with this step in their transition!

So me and my mom talk via email, and in my most recent reply I dropped the bomb that I’m starting the process of legally changing my name. I’m so nervous I’m literally shaking. I don’t know how she’ll react.

I took up a second job at the beginning of spring; it’s a stipend position, and in a few days I’ll be receiving that stipend. Then, I’m going to be able to start the process of something I’ve wanted to do since 10th grade.

I’m going to get my name legally changed. It’s a complicated, lengthy, and costly process to get it changed in every aspect, but I’ve wanted this for so long.

I don’t know how I’ll talk about it to my parents. They probably figure I would plan on doing this. I’m an adult now, I live alone now, and I’ve finally got enough money in savings to use this.
