Okay, so tonight I performed my first original song in front of about 400 people. ;;;;u;;;

It was absolutely incredible- I can’t even describe it? It was an a capella song with me as the lead and three backup singers. I just can’t even explain how it felt- it was super vulnerable, since the song was blatantly about mental illness. But… it was really incredible, to see something I created come to fruition. It was amazing, really. The spotlight and all that… I’m performing again tomorrow, though it’s an outdoor concert so it’s less exclusive. Though because everyone sings at the outdoor festival I get to do three solo songs and the four choir songs. My family still doesn’t know I have two solo jazz songs this year. ;3

I didn’t tell them I was writing and composing a song either- they were so surprised it was great. It was kind of weird, getting so many compliments afterward? I was one of two people who performed their song- originally there was just one, but when the instructor heard my arrangement, she convinced the director to give her another slot. ;;;;u;;; I just. I just. Everything was so amazing. It was fantastic. I feel fantastic. I’m hoping there’s a video up soon?
