I haven’t gotten to play Alpha Sapphire all that much since I worked yesterday and today, but I just reached Route 144 ((right past Fallarbor Town)) and I’m so in love with the game so far. ;u; I’m trying to really savor and enjoy the game, so I’m not rushing like I did with Pokemon X when it first came out, tbh. My team so far is:

-Esperanza the Grovyle

-Bastien the Kirlia 

-Becca the Electrike

-Jasten the Linoone ((HM Slave))

I wanted to make Bastien a Gallade, but he may end up being a Gardevoir. I need to train up Becca since right now she’s just mooching off of EXP share but she’s not high enough leveled to be taking out Pokemon her own…

I did some Super Training on Esperanza and Bastien, but not much. Since this is my first playthrough, I’m not going to focus too much on planning things or EV training. I’ll probably do what I did with X/Y, where X I just played through to take in the game and observe everything, but Y I’ll get more technical and whatnot. c:

Anywho, after I beat the main campaign I’ll probably make a long post about it, but for now I’ll just drop a few thoughts here and there.

Also I’ll probably tag anything ORAS until the end of December, just to give people quite some time to get their hands on the game. If I ever forget to tag ORAS spoilers, please let me know and I’ll fix it as soon as I am able to!

Jack’s ORAS Journal #1 :: First Impressions ((Spoiler-Free))

Taking a break from Alpha Sapphire, since I’ve spent the last five hours straight playing it. XD

Oh my goodness, it’s gorgeous! I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything ((I’ll tag this ORAS spoilers anyways but just in case anyone is on mobile I’ll still try to stay vague)). I’ll say this much; the updated graphics make it seem like a TOTALLY different game, but it’s fundamentally similar to the originals. Even a lot of the trainer text is the exact same as the originals!

I’m currently in Mauville, which was COMPLETELY remodeled for ORAS. I won’t say much, but I think it’s very interesting and I like it much better than Lumiose in terms of the biggest city of the region. 

The only Pokemon I have on my team so far are Esperanza the Grovyle and Bastien the Kirlia, who I plan to evolve into a Gallade when I find the right stone. I have some others in my party, but they’re either for HM moves or just chilling, like the cosplay Pikachu.

I’ll post a long description and review of sorts after I’m further in the game, but for now I’m just jotting down my initial thoughts and reactions.

For those who haven’t gotten it yet, I hope you can get it soon, because it’s so far exceeding my expectations! Again, I’ll talk about the changes and new features in another post, but for now I’m just taking a quick break to ease my sore thumbs, haha.

What mega are you all most excited about for ORAS? Personally, my body is ready for mega Altaria. ._.
