I’m opening up commissions, as I’m currently in a very worrying financial situation (I explain this on the commissions page of my blog). Prices are listed at the top, and two examples of each option are shown in order of price.
Even if you are unable to commission me for a piece (or if you simply don’t want to), I implore you all to reblog this and spread it to as many people as possible. It would be an extraordinary help to me and I appreciate every effort!
I am extremely bitter right now. I went to pick up my prescriptions today, and found out that my Vyvanse has risen in price. Up until now, it’s varied from $35 for a month’s supply. Now, all of a sudden, it’s $80 for a month’s supply. For a sense of scale, all of my other medications are $10 each (sometimes less) to fill.
I did some research to try and figure out why they decided to more than double the price. The short answer: because they can. There are minimal government restrictions on the pharmaceutical industry in terms of their pricing, so they can charge whatever they want. In addition, Medicare/Medicaid is legally restricted from trying to negotiate prices. Another huge factor is that the pharmaceutical industry is monopolized, with many medications often being distributed by only one company.
And then there’s this little thing called “evergreening”. This is when a company slightly changes the formula of the medication, releases it as “new”, discontinues the old treatment, and then charges more for the “new” product that is effectively identical.
So, I suppose what I’m getting at is that the cost of one of my medications (one that I need to be able to function and stay awake), more than doubled in price for absolutely no reason other than some company wanted more money.

I have commissions over and priced VERY low in hopes that I can gain some clients. I am currently living alone, save for my service animal. I am very ill both physically and mentally, to the point where medications alone cost me $100/month. My parents give me a monthly budget that helps a lot, but between medications, groceries, school supplies, pet supplies, other necessities, therapy, co-pays… you get the picture. It adds up quickly.
I recently contracted a virus that left me so ill that I was bound to my apartment for two weeks; this caused me to lose my job, which was what kept me able to afford my monthly expenses.

*Digital sketches will have the blue lines removed; I simply don’t when doing personal projects. Similarly, all examples that are colored are shaded, as they were made for personal projects.
Now, for some technical details:
-All payments must be sent to jram1996@gmail.com via Paypal. I only use Paypal. I prefer that half of the price be sent before I begin the commission ((after I give you the confirmed price)), and the other half after I finish, before I sent it to you.
-Things I will NOT draw: Porn, Excess Gore ((feel free to ask if you think your request may be considered excess)), Offensive Material ((racist, sexist, ableist, etc.)), and Complex Animals/Creatures ((I have included the dragon example to show my level of ability with non-human drawings)).
-In terms of backgrounds, I will do solid colors and textures/gradients/pre-made backgrounds. I am not confident in my ability to make acceptable backgrounds of my own design, and thus ask that if you do not want a plain background, that you suggest an overlay or gradient/pattern background.
