Last night I heard the term aceflux for the first time and it was really validating for me- it made a lot of sense and it finally clarified how I’d been feeling, which had been frustrating me because I thought it was some unusual and uncommon experience. As it turned out, aceflux is very much a thing and very much a descriptor of my orientation. I’m still attracted to the same people ((polysexual/romantic)), though I fluctuate on a spectrum between being sex repulsed and having a desire for sex, sometimes being on extreme ends of the spectrum for months at a time.

Basically, aceflux polysexual feels like something that really fits me when I think about my sexual and romantic orientation. uvu This was just a jimmy jam I made on MS Paint even though it’s kind of vague and more looks like a polyromantic asexual kind of thing or whatever- it made me happy so.

Honestly I used to ID as bisexual, but I don’t like the implications of a gender binary with “bi”. More power to the people who ID as bisexual, but a lot of the reason I prefer polysexual is because it emphasizes the MANY genders, but I’m also not attracted to every gender out there. So, yeah, bisexual would suffice, but I don’t identify with that term, and polysexual feels so much more comfortable for me.

So, uh, can we raise some awareness for polysexuality? Because I feel like I just have to say I’m bisexual to avoid some long, drawn-out explanation.

Hey if you are a blog of any of the following varieties, like and/or reblog this so I can check our your bloggity! I need more peeps to follow.

-social justice in general
-LGBT stuff that focuses on lesser acknowledged groups like asexual polysexual transgender non-binary demisexual etc
-Latinx pride
-mental health blogs and recovery blogs
-feminism

Can we stop this weird trend where people criticize and belittle queer people who use specific terms to describe identity? Even to more common ones like polysexual and pansexual, I often here things like “You kids keep making up all these silly words.” or “You just want to be special snowflakes.”

Actually, no.

1. I’m a “black and white” person. I need things to quantifiable, certain, and specific. I don’t like to lump myself into a group that isn’t quite who I am or is inaccurate to me.

2. Language is constantly expanding and evolving. Besides, who writes the dictionaries? Straight, white men. Chew on that.

So yes, polysexual is a legitimate sexual orientation, and it’s how I identify.

Step off.

Always stand up for queer youth who feel like they aren’t allowed to know who they are just because they’re young.

Always stand up for queer youth who aren’t given the resources or support to explore their identity.

Always stand up for queer youth who are forced to live with a family that cuts down and belittles and despises their identity.

Always stand up for queer youth who don’t feel safe where they are because of their gender/sexuality.

Always stand up for queer youth.

Always.
