QOTD response: I have dyed my hair before! In 10th grade I bleached it, was blonde for an hour, then dyed it blue (Same color you have now actually, it was SPLAT too even), then it faded slowly to a beautiful seafoam color.

Then I stripped the rest of the color as my roots got bad, and dyed my hair a dark red (bit.ly/1ROUGZV) a few times, then I got it back to my natural color as a grew out the roots long enough that when I cut my hair into a pixie cut it would be all regrowth.

After that I used manic panic a couple times to dye my hair a plum color, but I found that it made my hair greasy feeling and it only lasted until my next wash so :/

(I used to have photos of my hair but they were on my old facebook which I deleted years ago and I thought I saved them but I didn’t)

[[Jack’s Comment: Yeah, I really haven’t had success with Manic Panic! Those are rad colors btw. You know, some people swear Manic Panic is the holy grail of hair dye but I just… man, it does not do much for me.]]

Hey! I recently saw you “I’m here for non binary people” post. And u cannot find words to thank you enough! I’ve never felt better.
I’m, not discovering because I’ve felt this all my life, but I am acknowledging my feelings now, as a non binary person who is really afraid to come out, because I recently came out as bi, and I didn’t get the responses I expected.
I’m a non binary person who sometimes wish I could be a boy, but feeling so sad when I cannot dress like one or express myself like one.
I am a non impart person who never knew about this and was never explained to that it is okay to feel this way
So, thank you. Your post gives me hope.

To start of really quick, I hope this is okay to publish! I wanted to get back to you, but your ask/submit isn’t open and I have to follow your for a while before it will let me submit fanmail. I’m really glad my post could be a source of encouragement for you! Coming out really isn’t easy, especially as an identity that most people don’t even know exists. Along with not being easy, it’s often a really confusing and messy process for people outside of the gender binary.

I actually originally came out as bigender…. and then as a transgender male…. and then again as genderfluid. At this point in time, I identify as non-binary and/or genderqueer. It may very well change again in the coming years- though it is important to know that your gender identity and even sexual/romantic orientation can change over time. Our ages change, our bodies change, our opinions change, and our gender can change too.

I’m sorry coming out as bisexual didn’t go well- although my own family has improved, things still aren’t that great or accepting in my life, either. Regardless of whether the people around you support you or not, I hope you can find confidence in who you are. There will always be people to try and disregard you, and sometimes those people are the ones you love and trust. But it’s a process and you deserve to be validated and happy. <3
