2. Gwen just only sees him as a little brother. Cody just frankly isn’t mature enough— always trying to be really cool. It’s inauthentic, which is exactly what Gwen hates in TDI, because she’s incredibly real with everyone and doesn’t put on a face. Some guy trying to be all suave just doesn’t impress her and doesn’t woo her.

2. In TDI, they were just so fantastic. I thought the show would put the stereotypical goth girl with bad boy Duncan, but instead they put her with sweetie Trent, which I thought was fantastic. He was chill enough to handle her snarkiness and her kind of resistance to showing affection.

Sadly, in TDA things just went downhill, which I blame on the writers’ poor handling of Trent’s OCD, but that’s a different story.

3. Gwent and Gwent

-What I think of them: Although they emphasize it more in this season, I like the notion that deep down, Duncan is kind of a good guy. That doesn’t mean he can’t be an asshole to some people or like to break rules, but he does have a strong sense of right and wrong. It’s cool to see how one moment he won’t even feel remorse about making Harold’s life terrible, but then the next moment he’ll be finding a new bunny so DJ won’t cry. It’s a pleasant mix of badass and moral compass. I think that Courtney helped bring out both of these qualities in season 1.

-What I think of them: I’ve always enjoyed his character. I was kind of sad they didn’t bring him back for TDWT. In TDI, he was a cool guy. Not a jerk/asshole/douchebag. He was just really chill, and he didn’t judge people. He even heard out HEATHER when she seemed upset. Although he was a super cool character, they did give him moments of weakness, which were appreciated. In TDA, they introduce his OCD, which was an interesting development. I have mixed feelings about how that was portrayed. In reality, I think they overdramatized it, or overemphasized when he fixed things— but that’s a whole different question to answer altogether. Overall, I liked his character and how he treated other people.

-My favorite quote of theirs: That whole scene in “Brunch of Disgustingness” where he instructed his team to force feed him the dish and his eyes got all big and was like “Mommy? OuO”. Also, WTF why did his parents physically hold him down and force him to eat?

-What I think of them: She is one of my favorite characters. I mean, they could have taken her appearance and made her the 100% stereotypical Goth girl, but they ended up making her such an interesting character. Even though I don’t like how they handled her character in her love life (circa TDWT onwards), other than that I’ve always loved her character. She’s just sort of real, you know? She looks like some dark, gloomy chick, but in TDAS she’s the only one on the villains team pushing for teamwork and being nice to each other. Major respect for Gwen.

-My least favorite ship of them: CodyxGwen

-My favorite quote of theirs: Literally most of what she says in TDI.

-What I think of them: Holy shit, this girl is CRAZY. But it’s awesome! All of the other characters, while sane and mostly down to earth, have quirks that are funny because it juxtaposes their character. Izzy is just 100% what-the-fuckery and nonsense, and altogether that’s more jarring because her entire being juxtaposes every other character. So I think she’s spontaneous, hilarious, and missing a few screws. XD

-My favorite season they were in: TDI

-My favorite ship of them: OwenxIzzy ; Owen is patient enough and already loves Izzy enough to put up with her constant shenanigans. He’s along for the ride, and I just think they’re so cute together.

-My least favorite ship of them: IzzyxHeather ; I just can’t see it working… ever.

-My favorite quote of theirs: “Okay, you are sooo lucky that my license to kill is currently expired.~”

-What I think of them: In TDI, I loved her character. I thought the friction between her and Duncan was just great, and even on her own she was an interesting character. In following seasons, though, I lost interest in her character. Especially in the new season, I’ve stopped caring for her altogether, and I have a dislike for her nowadays. She’s catty, selfish, and pretty much a preppy Jo in terms of temperament. It’s too bad, considering I really liked her in TDI.

-My least favorite ship of them: I can’t think of any really popular Courtney ships that I don’t like off the top of my head…. I think I’m going to say NoahxCourtney. Their personalities would just clash to the death. Noah is too unsympathetic for Courtney’s softer side to ever make it’s debut in the relationship, if you ask me.

-My favorite quote of theirs: “I AM A C.I.T.!” That’s pretty much her excuse for everything. XD
