So sometimes I just sit here and wonder.

I wonder if Mike’s alters have a lot of emotional torment because they desperately want their own body so they can be considered a real person and live out their lives.

Even though Mike is my favorite TD character, I still don’t like how the show and parts of the fandom treat his MPD sometimes.

*Don’t romanticize his MPD. It’s an actual mental condition that is crippling to those who have to live with it. ((I had the same problem with how the show handled Trent’s OCD in TDA)) Which brings me to my next point…

*For the love of God I could write a book on how they made it so Zoey was the reason he was able to fight his personalities and if you get a love then you can overcome your disorder like that! ….fuck that.

*The correct term is “alter” for his personalities. Not “emo Mike”, not “gymnast Mike”. Either use alter or call them by their canon name.

*I have literally heard people from the fandom be like “That’s so cool that he has multiple personalities :D”. What the fuck. No. NO. It’s one thing to enjoy the characters of his alters and to fangasm over them, but don’t mistake that with “omg he has MPD how adorable <3”.

//deep breaths//

So I forced persuaded my best friend to watch TDROTI (She already saw TDI, TDA, and TDWT back when they aired), and this was her reaction to Mike.

“He has the sexual appeal of a lamp to me, but I can see why you like him.”

Wat.

So my tumblr went from “oh cool just a mishmash of errything” to “90% mike and mike appreciation oops changed the url to be about mike oops my icon is mike mike mike mike.”.

So can we all talk about how in TDROTI it was canonically mentioned that TDROTI was taking place 3 years after TDI. And one year passed between TDROTI and TDAS.

The original cast is 20 now, and still competing as teens.

They’re 20.

Let that sink in.
